A wedding is a very special day for a couple. Here at First Baptist Church, we believe a wedding at the church honors God with the invitation to be involved in a couple's married relationship from day one. A church wedding is far more than a beautiful place to have a special service; it is an invitation for God to bless, and participate in, a couple's married life together. If you are interested in having your wedding at First Baptist Church, we invite you to take some time now, if you haven't already, together with your fiance/fiancee, to invite God into your relationship. As you ask him to bless your relationship together, we invite you to affirm that you will do your best to maintain godly boundaries in your relationship with your future spouse. In order to promote healthy marriage relationships, in order to honor God, and in order to arrange for the practical needs of doing a wedding service, First Baptist Church has adopted some basic wedding policies to which we adhere.
Starting the ProcessIf you are a couple who is thinking about getting engaged, or have recently become engaged, and would like to have your wedding at First Baptist Church, the first step is to make an appointment with the Pastor to discuss the arrangements. In this first meeting, the Pastor will review the basic wedding policies with you and our church's outlook on the wedding process. If you all agree to move forward, he will set up four (or more) pre-marital counseling sessions with you prior to the date of your wedding. Non-members of First Baptist Church should then pay the $125.00 Sanctuary Rental Fee in order to reserve the date on the calendar. More information will follow. |
